Potentiometers are manually adjustable and have three terminal resistors that control the electrical output within your electronic devices. Perhaps you want to control the volume of your computer speakers or adjust the brightness on your computer monitor. These are connected through potentiometers that are built inside of the device. A shorter name for potentiometers is “pots.” These may seem like complicated gadgets, but they are actually quite simple to understand. One terminal of the device connects to a power source and the second terminal is just a neutral point with no voltage. The third terminal is the main connection between the neutral terminal and the power source terminal. This is the terminal that people control by turning a level or knob which sticks out of the device. You might think the knob is just a little circular button but it actually contains extensive internal components inside your electronic devices.

There are two kinds of potentiometers you should be made aware of. The basic potentiometer is one where it is just a knob or button that you push to control the electrical output and its resistance. However, there are some electronic devices that use an LED sensor with their potentiometer. These are usually indicators that something is turned on or at a certain level of intensity. For example, if you were to turn on your speakers using a pot with an LED sensor, then you might see a green light come on after you turn the knob. This light is not necessarily a requirement in order for the component to work. It is made for convenience, so the user knows when the device is turned on and activated. In older electronics, you didn’t normally see LED sensors because they didn’t exist. Now days almost every electronic has at least one potentiometer with an LED sensor in it.

Top-Up Industry Corporation can customize any time of potentiometer with an LED sensor. We can even create sensors with multiple LED lights in them. Sometimes your device might need red, green, blue, or yellow lights to indicate various functions. Whatever kind of potentiometer you need we can accommodate. Just send us the specifications of the potentiometer or the electronic device you need it for and we will work with you to create a customized potentiometer to suite your needs.

You can email the specifications to sales@top-up.com.tw and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
